FAQs on Air Fryer Snacks

  • Are air-fried snacks healthy?

Air fryer snacks are considered healthier than deep-fried alternatives. These cooking appliances use significantly less oil and use hot air to create a crispy texture. However, overall healthiness depends on the ingredients you use.

  • What is the rule for air fryer time?

Air fryers cook food quickly. So, if you are following a recipe for oven or microwave, consider reducing time and temperature for best results. As for general guidance, you should reduce the temperature by 5-10°C and check food about 20% sooner. However, each air fryer model may vary slightly, so it is best to start with the manufacturer’s recipe recommendations.

  • What type of ingredient should I not cook in an air fryer?

Avoid cooking food items with a wet batter, such as idlis or uthappam. The batter can create a mess as the hot air inside the air fryer can blow it off. Moreover, foods with a very high-fat content like fatty cuts of meat or adding more oil to ingredients may also cause excessive smoke.
