How coolers works?

Air coolers use a technique of evaporative cooling. A pump circulates water from the reservoir on to a cooling pad, which in turn becomes wet. A fan draws air from outside the unit through the moistened pad. As it passes through the pad the air is cooled by evaporation.

Cooling pads

Coolers use two types of cooling pad -
Honeycomb Cooling Pad and Wood Wool Cooling Pad.

Honeycomb cooling pads can absorb & retain more water for maximum cooling efficiency, have low maintenance and higher life.

Wood Wool Cooling pads are made from wod shavings, synthetic fibre. They are chaper but neds maintenance and have a shorter life.

Right coolers as per the size of room

Air delivery denotes the total air in the room that get changed in every 2 minutes. Usually air delivery is mentioned in cubic meter per hour (m3/hr). Use the below mentioned formula to calculate the air delivery required for your room.

m3/hr = (room length x room width x room height / 2 / 0.588578)

For example if length, width and height of your room is 14ft, 12ft & loft respectively, then your requirement is 14x12x10/2/O.588578 = 1427 m3/hr.

Water Storage Capacity

To avoid inconvenience of filling the tank multiple times, follow the below table for ideal size of water storage capacity your cooler must have.
