Moong Dal Halwa

Moong dal halwa is a sweet and addictive dish, yet time-consuming and arduous in its preparation. To reduce the effort of the grinding process in this dish, you can use the Diva Mixer Grinder from Crompton, along with a kadai or a non-stick pan.  

Ingredients: 

Moong Dal – 1 cup

Ghee – ¾th cup

Sugar – 1 cup

Khoya- ¾th cup

Cardamom powder – 1 tsp

Saffron – ½ tsp

Method:

-Soak the moong dal overnight, or in hot water for about 2-5 hours.

-Drain the moong daal and grind it into a fine paste by using  Diva Mixer Grinder and make sure the paste is thick.

-In a non-stick pan or kadhai, heat up half the ghee. Once it’s hot, add the moong dal paste and keep stirring continuously.

-The moong dal paste might stick to the bottom, but have patience and keep stirring it properly. Add the remaining ghee, one spoon at a time, and keep roasting the mixture for about 10-15 minutes on low flame.

-When the mixture is in golden color then it’s perfectly cooked

-Add the khoya and sugar and keep stirring it until the mixture comes together.

-Your halwa is ready. Garnish with nuts of your choice.

 

Badam Halwa

Ingredients:

Almonds – 1 cup

Ghee – ½ cup

Water – 1 cup

Milk – ¾th cup

Whole wheat flour – 1 tsp

Sugar – ¾th cup

Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

Few saffron strands 

Method:

-Rinse the almonds once or twice with warm water. In a bowl soak the almonds overnight in water.

-Peel the almonds and blend them by using a powerful Crompton Ameo Neo mixer grinder.

-Take a non-stick kadhai, add ghee and cook the almond mixture. Mix it well and cook for 10 minutes.

-Mix water and milk and boil it for 5 minutes in a different pan.

-Add whole wheat flour to the almond mixture and mix it and cook it for 5 minutes.

-Add milk-water mixture, sugar, cardamom powder and saffron to the mixture and cook it on a medium flame for 2 minutes.

-Serve the badam halwa and garnish it with almonds and saffron.

 

Dates and Nuts Halwa 

Ingredients:

Mixed nuts of your choice – 2 cups

Dates – 10

Sugar – ½ cup

Warm milk – ½ cup

Ghee – ¼ cup 

Method:

-Soak the nuts and dates for 30 mins in warm milk. 

-Now, use the Crompton Ritz mixer grinder to blend the nuts and dates.

-In a pan, heat ghee and add the blended mixture. Saute for 5 mins on low heat.

-Now add in sugar, mix it well and cook it on low heat till sugar melts and the mixture thickens.

-Cook the mixture for 8-10 minutes.

-Dates and nuts halwa is ready to serve.
